HOOFERS HAUNTED HALLOWEEN

UW Hoofers, together with several Wisconsin Union Directorate committees, is sponsoring its second annual “Hoofers Haunted Halloween” (H3) week of activities from Friday, October 23 through Thursday, October 29.

“Our team is expanding on the giant success of last year with a bigger and more involved crew to plan and manage the events,” said Hoofers Marketing Coordinator Drew Kozlak. “Last year, the Haunted House ran over an hour past its cut-off because of the astounding number of participants waiting in line. Adding to the excitement, the collaboration between Hoofers, Student Performance, and Student Theater for this year’s ‘Secret Government Quarantine Lab’ is expected to outperform last year.”

Other events for those looking to be spooked or for some extra fun the week before Halloween and Freakfest include “Haunted Campus Ghost Tours,” a visit to Schuster’s Corn Maze, a free showing of Nightmare on Elm Street and the Buccaneers Ball in Great Hall and more. The Buccaneers Ball features a cash bar and DJ; and as a costume event, it’s the perfect opportunity to warm up for Freakfest without being in the freezing cold.

The Wisconsin Hoofers is one of the largest University outdoor recreation program in the United States. Hoofers has over 150 leaders, and 3,000 members in six clubs: Hoofer Mountaineering, Hoofer Outing, Hoofer Riding, Hoofer Sailing, Hoofer SCUBA, and Hoofer Ski and Snowboard , the club's five teams (Equestrian, Sailing, Ski and Snowboard Alpine, Nordic, and Freestyle Snowboarding) along with the Hoofer Youth Program involving over 400 youth each year.

Membership is open to all UW-Madison students, faculty, and staff and Wisconsin Union members in good standing. Union membership is open to the general community. More information about each club can be found at the clubs' websites. Hoofers is part of the Wisconsin Union and UW-Madison.

Click on the links to the Hoofer clubs, find out how to become a member, see the calendar for upcoming events, and get information about contacting club leaders, and much more.

Hoofer members can share photos, videos, and blogs about their experiences and adventures in Hoofers.

Happy Hoofing!

Lake Superior Waterlife Website

Waterlife [Flash Player]
http://waterlife.nfb.ca/

A beautiful and dramatic website, Waterlife, addresses the dire state of the

choose to discover what part of life water affects from a menu on the left
hand side of the page, and in this case, there are many. "Water is..." sits
at the top of the left hand side menu, and below it are the almost tw… Continue
